
Sport Scholarships are offered to students entering Years 7-11 in 2027. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement along with outstanding performance in the field of sport. Preference is given to team sports which are played at Brigidine College. Applicants must be prepared to work within the ethos of the College, contribute positively to the College community and commit to upholding the values and policies that govern the College.
Scholarship key dates: Applications open Saturday 1 November 2025 and close Saturday 7 February 2026.
Financial remission: Successful Sport Scholarship applicants will receive part remission of tuition fees at the Principal’s discretion.
Scholarship duration: The scholarship will commence in Term 1 2027 and be awarded for the duration of the student’s Secondary schooling. The scholarship will be subject to an annual review by the College.
Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement and are expected to study PDHPE as a curriculum subject maintaining an A grade result.
Applicants will be assessed based on demonstrated potential, evidenced by achieving at least these minimum standards.
It is expected that applicants awarded a scholarship will:
- Be prepared to attend and participate in Sports events and external opportunities as organised by the College.
- Be prepared to prioritise College sports activities before other sports commitments
- Demonstrate leadership within the College community. For example, through leadership roles and by encouraging peers during sports events and training.
- Wearing the school uniform and sports uniforms appropriately.
Short-listed applicants and their parents will be invited to attend an interview with the Head of Sport and a member of the College’s Leadership team. Scholarship recipients will be announced in September following this process. Upon completion of the process, all applicants will receive written notification regarding the outcome of their application.
At the time of online registration for a Sport Scholarship, the following documentation will need to be uploaded:
- Most recent school report
- Most recent NAPLAN results
- Supporting documentation for the applicant’s areas of excellence including levels of achievement eg State or National level for sport/s
- If the applicant’s area of sporting excellence is not facilitated through NSW School Sport pathways, provide information about the other sports the applicant represented at their current school across the past 24 months. Specify the team and level of competition as well as the competition format ie Gala Day or regular season with training
- Description of broad involvement across school life
- Two references relevant to the areas of excellence, including the contact details (email and phone) of the referees. The references must be completed by a school coach or teacher, or a recognised club or regional, state, national or international coach in your chosen activity.
Short-listed candidates and their parents will be invited to attend an interview with the Principal. Scholarship winners will be announced in September following this process. Upon completion of the process, all applicants will receive written notification regarding the outcome of their application.
