We have had a fantastic start to our school year. On Monday 30 January, 122 Year 7 students began at Brigidine. I would like to congratulate them on a great first week, where they fully immersed themselves in high school life! I would also like to thank Mrs Simone Webb, Year 7 Coordinator, the Year 7 Mentor teachers, and our Year 12 student leaders who made such a smooth transition possible.
I would especially like to acknowledge our Year 12 students who gave up the last day of their holidays to support our Year 7 students. Welcome to our newest Brigidine girls in other year groups who joined us on Monday too.
All students in Years 8-12 started back on Wednesday 1 February enthusiastic to see their friends and teachers. As we begin the school year, we also wish all Year 12 our utmost support as they start on the final year of their schooling towards their HSC (Higher School Certificate).
Brigidine staff have been working hard to be ready for your daughters’ return. They have been busy planning lessons and preparing their classrooms. We have undertaken work to improve school facilities and grounds over the holidays. As staff, we look forward to an exciting year focusing on learning and involvement in the school’s wider life with your daughters.
This year as a community we will focus on the value of Courage. We will have the opportunity to use this as a focus particularly on our motto of Strength and Gentleness.
As we start our school year, I ask that Brigidine students take time to care for each other and our school. I ask them to strive for excellence and be proud of their achievements this year. To be involved in as much as they can here at Brigidine. Celebrate their own successes and those of their friends. We are proud of our Brigidine students and ask that they show their pride in their school by aiming to do their best, wear their uniform with pride and be leaders here at school and in their community.
Our teachers are here to support and challenge you. They are very excited to see you back! We all look forward to a wonderful year ahead.
